Synopsis

Anna (41) and Ari (32) want to become mothers. Yet something that is supposed to be easy quickly turns into an exhausting medical, physical, and emotional journey testing the limits of their resilience. Over the course of four years, Ari documents the couple’s highs and lows with her camera, capturing a rollercoaster process brimming with hope and frustration, joy and heartbreak, expectation and disappointment. Through it all, the women never lose their sense of humor. 

Mums is a transgenerational film that explores the consequences of postponing motherhood, showing the importance of love, caregiving and connection when things get difficult.
